The 1st Annual “DC Afrobeat Arts Festival: FELA!”
The first Annual “DC Afrobeat Arts Festival” is a new music and arts festival celebrating the life and work of Fela Anikulapo Kuti. To be held and hosted by Liv Night club, Bohemian Caverns and the Tap and Parlour, this exciting comprehensive arts festival is an all-arts event. The festival will feature the innovative creations of local, regional and national musicians, dancers, and visual artists on 4 amazing levels, including three listening/sharing rooms and two stages!
The DC Afrobeat Arts festival is dedicated to providing D.C., Maryland and Virginia residents with an unforgettable opportunity to celebrate the immeasurable work and innovations of Fela Anikulapo Kuti as well as promote artists inspired by his dedication to social change through the arts. Festival-goers and artists of all ages and backgrounds will come, share and participate in an exciting positive energy exchange at this multidisciplinary arts festival with back to back live band performances, African dancing and drumming, live DJs, live painting and vendors.
